Wanted - Long chrome section at the very top of windshield (spanning from drivers side across passenger side) that meets directly with the lowered top (when lowered). This is the curved smooth single section that is held in place by the chrome pieces that cover the windshield pillars (right and left). I am looking for an undented piece that can either be installed directly or can be re-chromed. Please let me know if you have one or know of one that's available elsewhere. I'd obviously also be quite happy to purchase an NOS one too. Below is a photo of the section...
    Thanks,
    Matt-
P.S. Damage was caused by the top not being secured by the restorer (or the enclosed transporter) when it was shipped from VA to FL. Instead of letting the top warm in the sun, to allow it to latch on both sides, they opted to simply ship the top "as down as it could go". The resulting damage was caused by the top bouncing down on the windshield as the truck traveled over bumps in the highway.

    Matt,

I believe that piece is stainless??? Why don't you just remove it & send it out to get restored. "Smartin" ( Adam) on this board should be able to handle it with no problem. Send him a PM.

I guess it could be stainless? I'll ping Smartin on PM and possibly Larry has a good one (he's checking).

Thanks for the picture Larry. Sadly I don't think those are for the 64 Wildcat. My center (long) section is strait not curved and it doesn't have holes.

After getting a better view at your car, I agree.

I have a complete set but I agree with Telriv. That is stainless and isn't that hard to repair and polish.

Thanks guys, I've spoken with Adam (Smartin) and will be sending the piece off to him for repairs and polishing.

    Matt,

If you can find a carpet retailer near you pick up one of the tubes that rugs come wrapped around. Some of them are as large as 6 inches in diameter so I THINK that part may fit as it DOESN'T look as it has much of a curve to it. Most places will give you one for free & they are DEFINITELY long enough. If not you will need to source a sonatube or a piece of PVC pipe. This way it doesn't get damaged in transit to & from.
