My brother is looking for a nice Buick. Mid 60's to mid 70's. He is basically looking for... - Riviera, Skylark (but will consider early 70's Century, Regal, Cutlass, Etc) - Must be a 2-door - Must be a hardtop (no convertibles) - Must be in EXCELLENT CONDITION We been monitoring all the usually places since Sept 05, came close a few times, garage still empty. He is looking for a very nice car, excellent throughout, basically turn key. Post em if you got em. Thanks.
Did you see the silver 72 GS 455 just posted in cars for sale ? That looks like a nice car at an affordable price.
Thanks... Seems like a nice car, but being a GS 455 it commands too high of a price tag. If that was a Skylark, or even GS 350, he would be interested.
My nephew's 1967GS Riviera is for sale. It's a nice solid car and runs well. Like you said, turnkey. A couple cosmetic things only. You'd have to contact him for details. Pics on this thread: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=91854
I know of a really nice 71 Skylark 350 2 dr. hardtop that's all original. The last I heard he wanted around $7K. If that sounds like something he may be interested in give me a pm and I will get the contact information for you.
I have a 63 Electra 225 2 door hard top with 26,000 actual miles that I am thinking of selling. It is in VERY GOOD (for all original, it is almost perfect) condition. It has a grey bedford cloth interior , and other than having radials rather than bias tires, is ready for BCA archival judging I am asking $8,000
Old Guy, the 63 is a bit too old for him. Zach, that's a neat car, but the same exact car (same color) is only 30 minutes from our house, only this one has mint paint, and only 41k miles. It's a beautiful car for $4500. We passed on it months ago. Thanks for the responses everyone. As I mentioned in the original posting, he is looking for a very nice car, excellent throughout, basically turn key. But maybe I should have been more specific. He is looking for a car with beautiful paint and interior, rust free and super clean, all nice chrome, tight drivetrain, rebuilt suspension, disc brakes, nice engine compartment, nice rubber, and all the other little things. It can be a low mileage original car that was freshened up, or a completely restored car. He is not a wrench, he wants something finished... cruise it, clean it, and maintain it. Still looking...
Sounds to me like your brother wants something for nothing.Every time someone posted a car for him it was either to much or not nice enough.Maybe you would be better off letting everyone know how much he wants to spend. Tom
Sounds to me like you need to read more carefully. Please don't insult me or my family. I have been courteous, respectful, and appreciative to all who have posted. I've been in the classic car hobby and a automobile professional for over 20 years. I know exactly what I'm looking for, and willing to pay a fair price for it. We are not interested in "settling" for something, we are looking for the right car, as specifically described above. This is why I use ALL the resources available to me, including V8Buick.com. Like I said in the ORIGINAL POST... we check all the popular venues, came close a few times, but the garage is still empty. There were 5 cars since Sept 05 that almost made it home, but couldn't close the deal for different circumstances... - 71 MC, triple black, mint paint, 50k, 402, tach/gauges, NOS chrome, beautiful, $9600, passed, was too sinister for him ($12k car) - 69 RIV, car was simply amazing, incredible history, cross country, $12k, he hesitated, sold from under him ($17k car) - 66 LeMans, fully restored throughout, beautiful car, $12k, he hesitated, sold from under him ($12k car) - 70 LeMans, fully restored throughout, beautiful car, $10k, he hesitated, sold from under him ($12k car) - 72 Cutlass, beautiful throughout, willing to pay $10-$12k, but broker selling, wants his cut, wants $15k, too much for color & options Those are the ones that almost made it home. We're not interested in putting $3k in a brokers pocket, we're not interested in a $4-$6k car that needs paint, has the original worn out suspension, tired leaking engine, 4-wheel drum brakes, and engine compartments that would scare mice away. I look at thousands of cars ads every week, only a choice few make it into final consideration. I'm very familiar with the shopping process, as shown through my own vehicles, because I like to change it up yearly. This is his first classic car purchase. Just because he wants to be patient and find the right car for him, doesn't mean he wants something for nothing. It means he wants to get his moneys worth and be happy with his purchase. What a concept. Why... because we're not interested in your Century? With all due respect, I like what you have done with your car to make it different, but as I replied to you earlier in the thread, we passed on the same car locally. Why would we travel all the way to GA for your Century, when we could have bought the same exact car, nicer shape, with low miles, for $4500, and only 30 minutes from where we live. Thanks, but he is not looking for something like that, it's out of his price range anyways. Even if he were to spend that much, he wouldn't buy a flashy clone. He is the low profile type, doesn't want flashy muscle, just wants a REALLY NICE Skylark, Riv, LeMans, Cutlass, etc.
Here's a 2 door hardtop "low profile" car that fits his budget and is in excellent condition! Your search has ended!!!! :beer :eek2: uzzled: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=96400
He hates green... Seriously though, I looked at your car recently, sounds nice, but it's not what we're looking for, as explained above. Thanks anyways.
This thread! I have to admit reading this entire thread has made me laugh non stop for at least a good 2 minutes!!!!!
