Is the world coming to an end? Is the Sky falling. Maybe I am in denial. Yesterday I bought a 2013 Focus SE. Didnt plan on it but ended up with it. Heres how it played out. I go to church with the owner of the largest used car lot in town and he knows all the auctions in the state. Sunday I asked Stan to be on the lookout for a Hybrid and mentioned I was interested in the Fusion Hybrid. Tuesday rolls around and Stan calls and says theres a car I might be interested in going through the auction in Orlando in about and hour said it was a 13 and had 40k on it. Told him if we can get it for under 15 to buy it. Hour later he calls and says we got it for 14150.00. Thinking, SWEET! Then he says you know its only got a 78 mile range before it needs charged. Hmmmmmm:eek2: Went home for lunch and did some checking on the interweb. Turns out Fusion dont come in a electric only but Focus does. Oh noou: called and told him I dont want that and it wouldnt make the drive back up north on a single charge. Stan made some calls and found it was mislabeled in the description and it was a flex fuel car. Talked it over with the wifeling. then agreed to ride down with his crew then she and I would drive it home and if she liked it we'd buy it. Well it rode nice dove good and got 38 mpg. pretty much a spotless car. only issue was the batt light came on 1/2 way home but its still charging 14.5v. Anyway we agreed to buy it for what he paid. no mark up because he goofed. I guess we came out of it pretty good.
I test drove a 2013 SE and went 2013 Civic instead. I'm so ashamed... But the Focus bucket seat backs sucked big time for my wide shoulders and the civic had a better ride. Its now my DD as my daughter drives the Riv to school and work.
