Anybody have the weigh in numbers from the race? Just curious as to what a few cars weighed in at.

I'm sure the scales were off. In 04 and 05 my 73 Riv weighed 5060# with me in it. This year the scale operator told me 4200#. I'm still 200#. It should have went up since the restoration replaced rust with metal! I'm interested in how much this will lower my power numbers when the sheet comes out.

  7. Clark, I am curious what the Chevelle weighed at past events. And what kind of power it is making based off of that #. Haven't weighed mine, but I expect it to be north of 3700 without me in it.

    Hi Brian,
The sheet for 06 has weight at 4190# and RW horsepower at 366. The 07 sheet has weight at 4180# and horsepower at 381. I pushed the car a little harder in 3rd gear in 07 since the spread from 3rd to 4th in my wide ratio trans can really slow it down at the big end. My 60ft times were not that good with 2.2-2.4but my mph went up to 105. Times were still in the 13.5 range like in 06. How is your car coming along?

  9. Thanks Clark, now I am really concerned with how heavy my car is. I don't have power windows and locks, but I have everything else. I myself am 185-ish at "race weight." I am still recovering from my injury and the surgery, it will be about four more weeks before I can resume work on it. It's really close though; install carb, distributor and plug wires, alternator and belts... and it will be ready to run.

I plan to put it on a scale, and chassis dyno once it is running. I should be dialing it in this spring once I get some tires from Rusty.

400 lbs. off sounds about right.
I weighed in at about 38 something and normally I'm 42 and some change on the Martin scale.
