Does anyone know how much a 84 Buick regal weigh with the carpet and seats, and heater box out of it. With the 455 BBB.

I'm talking about the whole car. I am trying to get it down to around 3000 lbs.

Your at about 3800 pounds curb weight right now. 800lbs will be hard to find with out striping a lot of "luxury" parts. You can start with some fiberglass parts... bumpers, hood, deck lid ect... You can find some alum inner bumper from a GN or ttype. The bumper shocks have some wieght. You can make you own solid brackets or buy those. There are also a lot of unnecessary bits and pieces you can dump. Supposively factory carpet weighs alot.

Hard to lose a lot of weight with out butchering it up.

You're probably at around 3600 is my guess.
Mine weighs right at 3000 with fuel and without driver, and only thing not metal is my hood. Stripped, but not cut up.

So do you think that lexan front window and cowl induction hood should shave alot of weight. What are the non metal parts that you have on your Regal.

Drop the windows and go to lexan. Biggest weight savings possible on the Regals.

Next get rid of the seats and get the buckets from a gen 3 sunfire to save 30 lbs. Dump any power options and A/C.

AL bumper supports, AL trunklid, AL rad support, 1984 T-Type AL wheels.

As for stripping, carpet backing, insulation, NVH packets, and dash/door guts. Move the battery to the rear corner of the trunk. Lots of good meat there without sacraficing the usefulness of the car.

The only non-metal on my car is the glass, dash, and driver! I un-bolted everthing else I could and tossed it in the trash. Front bumper support is actually cut. I used only some of the bolts. Got rid of 100% of the undercoating. Poly race seat, fuel cell. Deleted ALL non-essential wiring. If I still own it come Bowling Green, I will probably bring it down (you can check it out then).

My son has an '81 Cutlass w/ a 350 Buick. The interior is gutted. One plastic racing seat is it. Dashboard is gutted, no radio, vents, heater core, glove compartement. Just the dash shell housing Autometer Ultralite gauges. No wheel wells. Bumper shocks cut off and supports cut from behind bumpers. Undercoating stripped off. Weld Prostar rims. Chevy S-10 manual stering box. The car weighs 2800 lbs w/o driver.

Motor was stock w/ TA 310 cam and headers being only thing over stock and the car ran 13.39 @ 99.98 mph.

I am interested in lowering the weight of my car also. I have heard that some regals built in canada had some aluminum parts, the hood for one, are there any other body parts made of same?

My car weights 2930 w/o driver, hood and bumpers fiberglass, like Ramin's everything else not needed removed, but does have carpet (for looks).
I have S-10 steering box. I am thinking of going to a pinto rack and pinion, that I already have, to knock some weight off the front.
