On my new motor, I will be using a Holley HP1000. This means, I will not be able to use the stock fuel line, from the mechanical fuel pump. I was thinking of bending some steel brake lines to use in its place, making the appropriate bends to mate with a Holley Double pumper. Is there a good fuel filter that I should use? I have seen some billet ones with replaceable elements, and billet ones with a cleanable metal screen? Can someone please recommend a good set up? I hope to be in the 530hp+ range, so low restriction is a must. I will also be using an electric pusher pump in the rear, for the needed supplimental volume and pressure. Any help would be appreciated, on both the filter and the electric unit. Thanks. Regards, John. o No:
John I am using a Mallory pusher right now. The only thing I do not like is I must use the pusher. The mechanical pump will not draw enough through the pusher pump except at very gentle cruise. I am currently finishing up a sump on the gas tank and will set the Mallory up as an auxilary pump. The bad part will be that it is not totally stealth because it can be seen from the rear Plans are as follows. AN10 from the sump to check valve, AN10 to 1/2 inch hard line, t from Mallory into this line, 1/2 inch inline fuel filter then hard line and hose as needed to fuel pump. Finishe with AN8 to carb. Hard to feed these Buicks Looks like we have lots of similarities in our cars. Like what you are doing.

Thanks Doug. I appreciate all the help and advice. I am trying not go as far as you, by replacing the fuel lines. I was hoping to be able to only change the lines from the mechanical, with the addition of a pusher pump. If I could get away with one of Robb's pumps only, and not have to replumb the whole car, I would do it. I think I will give them a call and discuss my options. I am glad you like my plans, must mean I am headed in the right direction. Good luck with your winter project. Regards, John. :beer
