took gas tank out, looks like there was red oxide primer and maybe a light grey on underside?
My Olds from Landsing was satin black....not sure on the Buick.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

There would also be body-color overspray on top of the black paint since the floors were painted black first, then the outer body was painted. If your car is orange, the overspray may give a red oxide appearance. We've seen some cars with a tremendous amount of overspray and some with very little since this was done manually in those days.

All I have seen in Michigan cars was black. GMAD plants had red primer everywhere.

Our cars from Flint ('70 & '72), Atlanta ('69), Fremont ('72), Kansas City ('67 & '71) all have black paint on the bottom of the cars. The Atlanta car has light yellow body color and the overspray is so heavy that there is yellow paint in the transmission tunnel of the floor pan. That painter was very thorough. :)
