I have a 72 Skylark 4 speed recent 350 rebuild upgraded to higher compression pistons, 2.5 inch dual exhaust, headers, TA intake, crower level 3 cam with AC. The car had a cheap plastic radiator. Motor heats up quick and hovers around 190 +/ 5 to 10 degrees vut haven't taken it out for long periods yet. Since I have a little lower than average oil pressure (10 psi at hot idle)... I want to keep it cooler I think. I was thinking of buying a Cold Case radiator but what degree thermostat should i run? I live in Buffalo, only run the car in the warmer 6 to 7 months of the year... any suggestions for affordable stock looking radiator and what thermostat? Thanks
Do NOT buy a Cold Case Radiator it will not fit correctly! I purchased one for my GS and thank god the manufacture is local to me. I visited them and they did not believe me so I brought them two original buick radiator and matched it up with there replacement, there radiator is to wide. I do have to say that they went out of there way to help me out. They did tell me that they were going to redesign the A-Body radiator but didn't. They brought out there prototype radiator and it was a perfect fit, and I installed in my GS and works great. If you don't believe me measure your radiator and compare it to Cold Case Radiator measurements and you'll see.
