Got stock in that tire company!! (Re: What tire size and rim combo are you running?) Dear Sean and V-8 Buick fans of "skinny pizza cutters" tires, . . . . Well now, that's a "generous" amount of rubber after all! Did you buy some stock in the company that made them before you purchased the tires? Just your purchase should have sent the stock up a few percent! Cheers, Edouard
My tire guy is going to Knoxville, tn this weekend for a car gathering not sure what and he is going to pick up some wheels for me. will save sales tax and shipping. with 295x50x15 rears and 235x60x15 fronts what back spacing do i need for each. want the front tires to fill the fender but without the threat of rubbing during turning, etc. a 295x50 tire is 11.8 inches wide and a 275x60 is 11 inches wide. the 295x50 has a side wall of 5.9 inches and a 275x60 has a sidewall of 6.6 inches. the 235x60 is 9.4 inches wide and has a sidewall of 5.64 inches. Need the bs sizes today if possible. tried to glean this info on here but got a bit confused with so many combos. I'm thinking 4.5 to 5.5 but now sure which. Thanks guys
For the rear, if you're going with a 15x10 wheel, 5.5" will center it in the wheel well. With a 295 tire you will have good clearance on both sides. I run a 325/50R15 on the back and it fits. It's tight, but it fits. You're almost 5/8" narrower on each side (1.18" narrower total) so you'll be good. I can't speak for sure the front, but I would think a stock sized wheel will be fine. I ran a 245/60R15 on a stock wheel and was OK. I believe those wheels are 15x7 with a 3.5" of BS, but don't quote me on that.
275/45-17's all around. But I have some BFG Radial T/A 265/50-15's for the back and 5" Mickey Thompson Sportsman fronts on some Centerlines if I get nostalgic.
235/70/14s now. They are old. Looking to put on 15x7 rally's but not sure about tire size yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Question: " Will a PRO TRAC 375/60 15 Tire on a 15x10 Buick Rally Wheel fit a stock wheel ? Or would it have to be mini rubbed...? Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk
The biggest tire I have seen mounted on a 10" wheel in a stock 70-72 GS is Phil Sedlon's 70 GS with P325/50R-15. He is right on the first page of this thread. I believe he used 5 5/8" B.S.
Hi, in my opinion there is no way a 375 tire will fit in the stock wheel well. My 325 barely has a finger's width to the frame rail, and I don't have big fat fingers. And on the outside I had to trim the top of the wheel well back half way to insure no rubbing. You're talking about adding 50mm, or almost 2" to the width. Never happen on my car.
Thanks Phil...yep; 325's should be wide enough for that "steamroller" look. Jay B.Britt,Jr. Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk
Maybe you could advise this guy, http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...1964-riviera&p=2629682&highlight=#post2629682
Still didn't upgrade to speed rated tires. Is there a consensus on whether to run 17" or 18" because of: Available wheel choice? Cost of tires, availability? Fitment?
