STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

In one of my earlier OCD phases I was buying nailhead parts. I know I bought it from WildBill decades ago but I don't know the parts year,WAS even an NOS air cleaner filter. Whole thing is rough no matter year but not advertising it till I know what year it is at least.

    Thanks : ) IMG_5227.JPG IMG_5228.JPG IMG_5229.JPG IMG_5230.JPG

It looks like a 65 or 66. If it was in better shape I would buy it, I’m looking for a chrome one.

63-64 Riviera, usually see these on 425 with 4GC.
Also fits a 59-60 Oldsmobile with the Rochester 4GC.

Thank ya gentlemen, and Jim it is rough but that is 20 years of dust and mess too. Would clean up a fair amount even though would need a rechrome. Swap me some 70-72 stuff for it if you wanna powder coat it or something,I sure don't need it.

You might want to check whether the base fits an AFB or a 4MV Q-jet.

The base WILL NOT fit a Q-Jet. As stated fits '64-'65 Riv. & '65-'66 Skylark Gs's WITHOUT the Q-Jet.

I think I originally bought it for my 60 deuce but with factory air and generator dont think I even got it close enough to check

66 Riviera GS came with a chromed air cleaner that fit the 4MV and looks similar.

4MV air cleaner did NOT have locating tabs like the base of this air cleaner has which was to position the snorkel in the correct orientation for an AFB or 4GC.

Thanks for the additional info Tom.

Was the chromed version standard on any nailhead with AFB? I thought it was just sold thru the parts dept. as part of a "dress-up kit" along with chromed valve covers.

Chrome was not standard, at least on the Skylark GS. It was part of the drsss up kit. Chrome was part of the Rivieras with the Qjet but they had the larger carb opening.

    Hi,

I believe this is the measurements:
    4-7/16 afb/4-jet
    5-1/8 q-jet 66 1 year only

    Regards,

I have one of these that came off of a '64 Riviera. It sure won't fit my '60 Electra with generator and a/c BUT it sits fine on my '65 Electra. Let me do the usual "Put me in line" and I'll get permission from the wife , think about it , etc . I could really use this one for my '65 Wildcat project John .

    John,
What does it measure where it meets with carb?

    4-7/16 afb/4-jet
    5-1/8 q-jet 66 1 year only
