The V8 Buick site will not "remember me." What's worse is that when I try to log in, I type in my username and then my password and get a message that I have logged in the incorrect password (I haven't) and that either 1 or 2 of my five tries have been used up and that if I don't get it right, I will be unable to log in for 15 minutes, my firstborn will be killed and eaten, and I will have to watch Oprah's weight watcher's commercial about how she loves bread 300 consecutive times. If I then click on "Forum" it will log me in. Why? How do I fix it?
I'm really baffled at all the threads we see similar to this over the years. I never never never have these kind of problems. Very unlikely that it is ever a board problem, but instead is something with your browser/cookies situation, as Jim stated. Log off of the board, don't just close the site. Go to your internet settings and clear cookies, maybe delete your bookmark for the site. Load browser, type board address in address line, enter ID and password,click Remember Me box.
I had the same damed problem. Drove me nuts. I finally did my first click on the bottom line of the user name box near the right end then once it turns blue, click it in the center, then the problem went away......but I have to re-enter every time, even if it is a few seconds after leaving the site.
I've had these same problems also even after clearing cookies (not to be confused with loosing my cookies).... Like John, I have gotten around the issue by going to Forum first then trying the sign on; its a convoluted way to sign on but works...whatever. If it was due to something we the users are doing then I would think it would show up on other forums I visit that are not having this issue. Just my two cents. John
It's highly unlikely it's got anything to do with how this forum is set up, considering there are so few posted complaints of this nature, of the many thousands of users we have. BTW, this thread just got resurrected after 7 dead months by a likely spammer.
