    Hello,
What is the difference between the Carter 3826 and the 3827
I know the 26 is listed for auto trans and the 27 is listed for manual trans.

Both are used on the 1965 Buick V8 300.

    Are they interchangeable?

    Thanks,
    Robert

Idle air bypass amount and maybe minor jetting differences I believe, or sometimes there a difference in the throttle arm because the auto Trans cars may need a down shift lever hooked up , which in the case of a manual Trans car I can't off the bat see why you could not use the Carb for a auto Trans car.

For comparison, the '66 401 carbs use the same throttle linkage for the auto and 4 speed.
And the vacuum port for the distributor leads to a different spot in the throttle bore. The auto carb has the opening below the throttle plates, the manual (and Ca emissions) carb has the opening higher, just a hair below the throttle plate.
I don't know if the 300 carbs have the same differences as the 401 carbs.
