What's your favorite Primer-surfacer?

What do you guys recommend for a hi-build primer-surfacer? My supply of Dupont URO is getting low (and old). Looking for something that is easy to mix, wich components (hardeners) that have a decent shelf life once opened. Oh, and it shouldn't cost $200 a gallon!
For a base primer, I use epoxy....
    Thanks!

try polyester primer, i loved it very high build, no iso's and sands easly. i think feather fill g2 is popular, i use a local brand pcl and it was great too

I always loved Kondar by PPG. I haven't used it in a lomg time now, not even sure if they still have it but it was great stuff.

We have a bodyshop and use quite a bit of the U-Tech products made by Akzo Nobel (makers of Sikkens and Lesonal paint). We have actually had much better success with the inexpensive surfacers than the expensive ones for some reason (better spraying, less shrinkage, less ringing, easier sanding, etc.)
It's really no use paying the big bucks for something like Sikkens Color Build, R-M DP 20 or DP 25, PPG K-36, etc. They seem to be really touchy and get too hard.

I know for myself I would never use Kondar or Featherfill or any other of that 70's to 80's technology. The new stuff is far superior, just like comparing laquer to b/c c/c.

Thanks for the input! I haven't kept up-to date on the new products, which is the reason for my question.
I'll look into the U-tech products! There's a Sikkens dealer nearby.
I also have Dupont, and PPG dealers in the area. The Sherwin Williams dealer, however, will not give me a discount from list price.

That's also a good suggestion, along with Transtar. The big name paint manufacturers are getting so proud of their stuff. As an example, one of the hardeners we use in our R-M paint is about $86 a quart. :shock
Many of the bodyshops are starting to use the off brands for primer and clear, and use mainstream paint to help keep the cost down with the material caps the insurance companies are implementing.

i personaly have never used featherfill 2g, just advice and reviews from others, Check out spi's turbo primer completely cures in 3hours or something crazy like that a aggree about using "off brands" i have found that some are superior to those that cost two to three time as much.
