Just a callout to Nick Tomlinson. After Nick posted some pix of the Victor George '68 RamRod that my uncle campaigned as the "Critter Gitter", we connected at the PSMCDR and he showed me some other cool vintage pictures that he had gotten from Tri-City Dragway. He THEN made (2) DVD's worth of Tri City pictures and mailed them to me. There are somewhere around 500 pictures from BITD. Thanks a bunch Nick, I won't soon forget your generosity. YOU ROCK !!!

Nick, like I told you at Stanton.....when it comes to me, I have a LOT of patience when it comes to musclecars and my research.

I've been thinking about that Michigan State "Project W-31" car. In the pictures that we have of the car, it shows "SAE" for Society of Automotive Engineers. I remembered that a guy that I grew up with went to MSU and got his BS in Mechanical Engineering from there. I got with him on Facebook and he told me that MSU has/had a monthly SAE newsletter, and didn't know if they archived them or not, or even how far back they went......My patience paid off.

    Lookie what I found ..........

Start reading on pg. 10. Cover is kinda cool too !!

Casey, how could your Pure Stock 350 Cutlass have possibly gone 12.80's when BITD they only went 13.15 with slicks, according to the article? sarcasm.gif

Now I'm starting to sound like some of the pure stock disbelievers. All in fun though.

By the way, where was Nicks Buick this year?

That was some amazing detective work Casey or should I say Columbo, ha ha! Thank you. John, my car is no longer pure stock. I want to go faster and a converter change and slicks has got me in that direction, 12.00 flat at 112.0. When I hit 11.99 with this engine combo I have another engine I am building. I am still having a ball helping my best friend Menzo Dodge and seeing all the people I have met through the years of racing there and meeting new friends like Casey.:)

Nick is the greatest! He has come through for me several times including bringing me a starter at Stanton that without it I would have been a spectator! That's one of the things I love the most about racing, the people, especially those like Nick.
