Also, does anybody have a good idea for a home made wheel sizing tool?

Anyone know how to get in touch with 65Special?

I could really use some info regarding the setup he used, or anyone else with a similar configuration.

I've got several options on the table for rear end configurations and if I can keep the stock rear and work with Jim to get it squared away I'd rather go that direction.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Summit sells one:

Shouldn't be difficult to make your own....bend a coat hanger to the shape of the tire and attach it to a stick.

Any one used the inner fender lip roller, I think you can pick them up from Summit or maybe its Jeggs. That'd be good for an extra 1/2 inch of width I guess.

I am running 15x8 wheels on the back of my 65. They are 4.5 inch BS with 255 60 15's mounted. The front are 15x6, 3.5 inch bs with 215 60 15's. I was gonna run 15x7 on the front, but they were out of stock. I started with 15x8's up front, and they rubbed, BAD, with 225 70 15's.

Any close up pics of your combo?

I now have a Chevy 12 bolt 3.42 posi that I am going to use and I'd like to see the stance and view from the rear if possible.

    Thanks.

I know this is an old thread but do you happen to have any pics of this wheel/tire combo?
    Thanks in advance!

Looks great Jim, but what members really want to know is back spacing on those wheels, the tire sizes, and how much clearance you have.

Rub I had is gone after springs.

    Front 215-55-17; rear 235-60-17 Coopers.

Wheels have 4.25" BS front, 4.5" BS rear. I do have a slight rub in the front when cranked all the way but will figure that out.

    Thanks Jim,
Where is the rub on the front, inside or outside tire edge? How about the back, how much clearance outside and inside? Do you think more back spacing than 4.5" would be better?

My rub was on the left front fender when turning sharp and hitting a bump at the same time. More backspacing would probably be a benefit but I seem to have nearly an inch of space in the rear on the fender side, more on the inside. I will say the car still rides very good. I would have more rear clearance also but I went with a meatier tire than originally planned.
