Where is this coolant coming from?

There is a pretty good sealant you can pick up at the auto parts store, I think it is called K-line, comes in a little blue bottle with a yellow lid as I recall. Before messing with the front cover I'd certainly try that, especially as it sounds like the leak isn't very bad. I've had pretty good success with that.

I assume it goes into the radiator?

Have not had much time to mess with the car of late. I can note that the leaking place on the timing cover has come to a stop. I did tighten the bolts a smidge on the timing cover/wp. I have ran it idling to running temp and driven around my neighborhood, no leaks. I have to get plates yet, temps expired so I have not been able to get it out on the road to see if my overheating issues are gone.

Recently finished this repair on a 340 engine. Quickly snowballed with parts, time, mods, etc.

well the leak has came to a stop ALMOST. When I first start it it pools up a little on the cover, but stops and never leaks. After I park the car it never leaks to the ground. I have been watching the radiator and the fluid is not going down. No I have not driven it much because I have no plates yet.
