Ok I've got myself in a bit of a pickle here with the wife (nothing new here :Dou: ) about which color she wants for her 71 Skylark convertible. Originally I was thinking stratomist, but then I saw a Skylark which was cascade blue or something like that. Can someone post me a good side view of a couple skylarks of each color so she can make up her mind? I've been so busy working on it I haven't had time to post any updates. All the frame and undercarriage has been detailed, floor pans installed and the front fenders have been stripped to bare metal. I'll probably do the doors and trunk lid tomorrow which will only leave the hood to be done. I don't have much body work to do since I'm going to have the rear quarters put on...it's beyond my skill level. So if ya got a blue Skylark post me some pics so I can make a decision soon. Thanks :beer

That's a tough call whether to go with Cascade or Stratomist. We have a 72 GS 350 4 gear conv. that's Cascade, and a 72 Stage 1 coupe that's Stratomist. If I had a digital camera I would take a few shots for you.

When it comes time to spraying it if you don't have a paint line picked out already I would suggest using R-M or Glasurit. They have b/c formulas for both colors, where the other paint companies usually have to go through and pick out a color that's close because they never converted many of those older colors into a b/c from the laquer and acrylic enamel days.

If I get a chance I would be happy to do a "sprayout card" for both of the colors in R-M and throw them in the mail. We have a bodyshop with our own mixing set-up.

That would be great if you could. I think she decided it's going to be stratomist....which is what I wanted to begin with :TU:

Cascade blue looks very good. Stratomist is awesome too, it would be a hard decision for me if I was in her shoes, both are sharp colors for sure! :TU:

    Go Stratomist or Aquamist

I vote Stratomist or Aquamist with white interior and top or...
    black interior with black top.
Three colors is too busy, like blue paint, white interior and black top.

Yeah I guess I should have said it has a white interior and white top. The seats are like new but I need to replace the door panels and the top has a small tear so it will be replaced too. She likes the stratomist better with white interior and the cascade with black so I guess her decision has been made....for now :pp
