Hi.. My 65' Electra is black, and have been resprayed once, before my ownership, but it's not that good anymore.. The paint is starting to tear and let in water underneath it, so something has to be done.. Therefore I found a guy who'll paint it, but what color? Both me, and my wife, is into the black, but now I have the opportunity to change the color, why not look into it? I google'ed it, and found a lot of colors, bot still feels black suits the big square car best.. What color would you paint it in? Houmark
It's your car, you are the ones that will be looking at it every day. But I understand asking for opinions. Post a good pic of it as-is, I'm not familiar with the 65's.
As good pictures as I could find in the picture mess on my phone.. I like off-white as well, but don't think the car is as majestic in other than black..
Personally I think any dark color will accentuate the design and lines of a big car and contrast nicely with all the chrome on a Buick. Burgundy, black, dark blue, green...lots of good colors to pick from and also balance with current interior colors. Getting family buy in helps and encourages more overall enjoyment with a classic car. On the flip side, body panels have to be straight with dark colors that show imperfections that much more; more cost to paint job.... Have fun! John
Exactly what the painter said.. I was thinking about a dark matt grey or green, but can't imagine matt color on a big vintage luxury car..
