For that kind of money, I better not have to chase down anything. Especially after a ground up restoration.

    That said....

Wrong alternator pulley. Should be double groved.

    Sticker on the shroud. (What??)

No sticker on the radiator top plate.

    Over the counter radiator cap.

    Wrong battery.

    Red plug wires.

    Red heater hoses.

I think there's a reason only one if the 89 pictures is of the engine bay.

Is the center section of the hood stripes really as crooked as it looks in the picture?

Mine is still wearing its original paint, and I can verify that at least in one case the stripes were anything but straight.

As far as the restoration goes, he did “grind it up,” although he may say that differently. I’d suppose that backing plates for the armrests and the surrounding bezel on the dash would’ve been on the “rechrome” list. Maybe it’s his version of “extensive.”

It is a dealer. They do not give a bleep. They have no clue or care period. Shining a turd. Not that the GSX is a turd. It fell into the wrong hands. Slap it together. Get it out there. That's what dealers do best. Especially these clowns.

Where's the consolette (ok, supposedly there was a documented car that didn't get one so maybe could there be 2?) but even so what's w/that shifter boot/ring? The clock looks awful (even the knob looks rusty). The radio is crooked & the bezel very warped. The dash pad looks awful (dents on the right side). The VIN tag looks awful. The whole dash is a disaster.

For that kind of $, it had better be a concours quality restoration and even then, the "make offer" button would be needed. Shame considering it's supposedly a low mileage numbers matching Stage 1 4-sp. GSX. It doesn't get much better than that in GS values. Even at $100k & assuming the bodywork was all done correctly (a BIG assumption & sans the panel alignment plus there may not be a good way to fix the pass door) it'd probably be a losing proposition to fix everything.

Wow. @Duane has said one guy in the paint shop did most of the striping on 2nd shift. Guess this was one of the ones he didn't do. As much as I love an authentic restoration, not sure I could re-create that.

That's actually not that far off,..when laying X stripes out this is the caveat,..your location thru the door handle is determined,..the red is to pass rite along the bottom of the button with just a little black showing but its supposed to be 7/8 to 1in from the roll of the fender. So you end up with a "peak" there at the door and 1/4,...there simply isn't a way to avoid it. You have work your approach to that point very carefully to get a smooth contoured look and not the "peak"..

When you apply stripes you stand back and "pull and land" the tape,..doing that in that 3ft section will result in that "peaked" look everytime
