I have my own rule of thumb. Letters out with factory rally wheels that would have come with letters out. There are exceptions to this one Letters in on any aftermarket mag wheels, no exceptions. Should be against the law IMO.
In general, I vote letters out, but it's case by case imo depending on the car, the wheel, and the tire. But generally I like letters out on A bodies.
I had a GS455 Convertible years ago and I put the old Formula 1 Super Stock tires on the rallye wheels. Huge block letters and I loved it.
Agreed, quite dependent on the type of wheel used. I, always, liked the look of the dog-dish hubcaps with black rims and black-wall tires. Quite menacing - and a throwback to the older police pursuit vehicles. My 1976 Regal Sport Coupe: And 1986 Grand National: Nando.
I will be in same dilemma soon .... so I'm gonna do drivers side white and passenger side black for a short period of time and see which side prevail. maybe nobody else will notice cant see all four at same time unless you have some big mirrors
These were good traction tires too. Before good drag radials came around, these tires with a 100 tread rating were pretty good at the track. I had four G60s for street and show and a pair of matching L60s for the rear when I went to the track.
