Thanks Sean! That 4G37 I recognise off the VIN, but couldnt make it work on the tag. Appreciate the time. So I guess thats an early-ish 1972 model? Any idea of the total built for '72? ws

The cowl tag on a Fremont car doesn't give a lot of information about options like a car from Flint or Kansas City but here's what I have:

all GS400s had B80 moldings (drip rail moldings)

F-1 Blue Mist with white top

C08 vinyl top was installed on 6,295 of the GS400 hardtops (44617) That total covers all 4 colors of vinyl top, black, white, blue, and green.
White vinyl top was installed on 595 '67 GS400s, 104 of those were assembled at the Fremont plant.

Blue mist (code F) was installed on 4.1% of '67 Buicks (that's among ALL Buick models except for the Riviera). I've never found a breakdown that shows the breakdown of just the GS400 alone.

Trim 191: there were 858 GS400s installed with this blue bucket seat interior, 173 of those were assembled at the Fremont plant.

If you can provide the list of other options I can maybe give more.

In 1972 Fisher body continued to use their old body style number scheme while Buick changed the VIN code portion from 5 digits to 4 digits so they could include an engine digit as the fifth digit of the VIN. In 1973 Fisher body switched to a style number scheme similar to the Buick VIN number scheme, but it was still 5 digits and not 4. The extra digit in the Fisher body style number was the second digit which now indicated the body platform (A-body, B-body, C-body, etc.).

Lots of good information there...thank you. It's not highly optioned in my opinion...power drum brakes, power steering, no a/c, remote mirror, custom wire loom coverings haha. All of this and the bucket seat console combo (no tach). Not sure on factory tinted windows or not. They were dusty/dirty from sitting for so many years.
