I might be, if it would quit snowing.

Tracks here in Alabama are already open. I went to Holiday Raceway Park two weeks ago for their annual car show, swap meet, open track & lawn tractor pull. I didn't run the 68, I still have some issues to sort out. But at least I got to see some other cars run... I feel sorry for you guys up north still having snow.

I thought I was ready but discovered I have a fuel delivery problem. It noses over right around the second to third shift. I really want to get to the track for the first time this year!

  14. Not even close with the 72' SS 454, haven't touched the 69' Malibu - other than to move it out of the way. The Pontiac is really close, I have to fix an exhaust leak and finish some things under the dash.

Getting there, but trying to do too many things at once..

The 71 is in the middle of a cam swap - never liked the cam that came with the car so I pulled it out, it was an Erson TQ20H. Throwing in a Comp C-"115"..Also sorted out about a thousand little electrical issues in the engine wiring harness. Also swapped the 8.2 3.90's for an 8.5 3.73 rear. Have to weld a crack at the rear upper crossmember too - this thing has seen a HARD life.

Took the sidepipes of the 73 for a legit X-pipe 2.5 system. Still messing with an ignition issue at idle, but I think that thing is going to turn some new numbers this spring.

Got the 65 ready for it's spring debut - changed the oil, put the 90/10's back in the front and swapped the 8.2 3.23's for a 8.5 with 3.42's - With such a short tire, that's about all the gear it needs (at least with this motor). Also went down a primary jet size on the Q-Jet, even in this weather it seems to like it. Was running 73/43's, now running 72/42's

Lebanon Valley opened last weekend, and we've had a good soaking rain that took the salt off the streets. I've got two track rental days coming up - taking the 65 up April 29th, and the 73 May 6th. If you're in the NY/New England area consider taking a Friday off and coming up - I typically get 25-30 runs in on rental days, with plenty of time for tuning - all for cheap money.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I have a bit of a "laundry list" of things as well before the '67 Skylark is ready. The exhaust is the main thing. We welded in a rear driveshaft loop and now the mufflers hit it. They were installed way too low and far ahead by the previous owner. I bought 3" mandrel bent tailpipes to add.

I took it for a run on the street before loading it and it didn't go into second right away and buzzed 7000 rpm .Seemed to be ok went to the track and with a 1.96 60 ft went 12.26 at 112 sounded a bit funny going down the return road .Might have a broken valve spring or bent valve not sure .Something isn't right .
