Misfire squared away! Turns out that some of the plugs were loose from the heat cycles of running it. I had installed them and never rechecked the torque. Idle set at 850 in park, steady 11” of vacuum with the 4 corner idle screws readjusted. I’ll work the brake issue in the coming weeks, and just enjoy this small victory for today. Thank you all for helping my noobie butt!

What do you have these FR 5 plugs gapped to Larry?

While you are at it, what ignition do you have on there? HP engines need HP ignitions.

I have a stock (I think) GM HEI with an MSD CAO and rotor and an Accel HEI cool on top. Probably not the best, but it works...intermittently. Lol! I was looking at “ready to run” distributors actually. I don’t have a 6al box or whatever. Open to suggestions for sure there. Seems all I know how to do is throw money at this thing and duplicate work. FML..

Distributor has the crane adjustable vacuum advance canister and springs on it. Accel igniter inside and coil up top. Stock weights. Learning as I go man! But I’m doing the work myself!!
