I have just ordered my pair of repro stage 1 emblems from poston.
(they seem to have some very reasonal prices!)
How do I take them emblems off of the car?
How do I attach the new ones?

All of the help is appreciated.
Sorry if this has been covered before.

PS. I have purchase NOS GS emblems for the front fenders.
Can you add a detail or 2 about that installation as well???

    Troy,
I have a NOS Stage 1 emblem and it has two speed nuts that are with it.Usually when these are used, the fender is off or at least the inner fender,so you can thread these nuts on.They have coarse cutting edges on them so when they go on they cut into the stud. What is a better solution is to go to a body shop or supplier and ask for barrell clips. You drill a hole where the studs go and insert these into the hole. Then you can just push the emblem on and the barrel clip has tangs that hold it fast. You can eliminate the nuts completely.Maybe someone will better know where to buy these and provide a pic for you.

    Oh my???????

I guess I just blew that money.
My fenders are not off of the car. the inners aren't off of the car.
I guess I will put these on the shelf for another day.

I'm guessing the GS emblems are attached the same way?

    Thanks!

    Troy,
    Just some help here.
The emblems on the "OLD" cars have the pins with the self cutting speed nuts on them. They go through the holes in the fender and the bolt goes on from the inside. Newer cars use no holes in the metal, just double sided tape!! Before I went drilling out old holes to make them larger, there has to be some reasonable way to take a couple of bolts out of the inner fender and get behind them to get a wrench on them... Try to look at the emblems on your trunk lid to get an idea of what to do.
Also may be interested in the 2 old emblems you take off for my wall!!
Need any help let me know
    Jeff

PS All the emblems have the studs with the nuts holding them on!!!!!!!!!!

    Just making sure I understand

These fenders would be the old fenders, I can see the stud going into the fender. I am assuming I have the "pal nut", "speed nut" on these. I have no doubt these are the cars original emblems. I would shelve these new ones before I drill the holes out to put the push type fasteners in. So I would like to mount them with the pal nut again if I can.

About the inner fender. Removing a couple of bolts???
Is there absolutely no way to see these from some angle from under the car or in the engine compartment???

About the rear GS emblem on the deck lid. I will have to investigate that really close, I have read a couple of times now they just use the push in type. Just be very careful not to hurt the lid when prying them out.

    Troy,
These are the barrel clips I used to put my emblems on. They push into the holes, and then the emblem pins push into them. It took a little work, but I got mine on, and they are secure. I have about 80 of them left. If you want PM me your address, and I'll send you 8 or so.
