Well, maybe I missed the original point, not you and I followed the thread in another direction. I think it could also be interesting but in a slightly different way. Sure didn't mean to get into a technical discussion as to whether you could get a wheezy 307 to run in the 15's. Notice I didn't pick on any other brands. :Brow:

Go away, I'm miserable with Ramrod woes. Running out of time. :pp

Like Weymouth said and I eluded to Dan doesn't have any interest anyway.

As you know it's all fun.

    Knock knock,

    Who's there?

    Argo,

    Argo who?

    Argo "screw" yourself.

Best thing happening right now may be the crappy weather forecast for the weekend and put an end to this misery. :( :Do No:

Getting too old for this grief. Beginning to like naps and being Grandpa too much. Life sucks, then you die.

Dave, I'll be happy to take that "problem child" off your hands for you, so you can spend more time with your grandson.

    As the stomach churns...............

Shifter locked up, blew out a core plug...............and that's just last night.........

The rainy forecast at Lebanon (for the next 7 days) cinched it for me. I'm out. Truck's in the shop, friggin' deer are eating my new trees, Miller Lite probably won't be on sale this weekend..........jock itch, smelly feet, dog's peeing all over the place, I'm peeing all over the place, .............

Nope sitting still this weekend. Gotta be a sale of some kind of beer.

Can't post on Year One from either computer.....?????? otherwise would let them know there that I'm officially out.

Got another one for you, Brian. How's about a 69 Cutlass S post coupe, factory 4 speed with A/C buckets, console, 350 2 barrel, single exhaust. Been apart and in dry storage for 15 years, needs quarters, but solid floors and trunk. Original paint car...........black interior...............Great project. VIN match engine and trans...............SSII wheels (at least 3 of them)........

Found it in St.Johns, bought for parts, too nice to part out. Won't do it myself, offers? Email privately.

    Dave,

Sorry to hear you are having last minute problems with your Olds. It is going to be cool enough here in NY where you couldn't have been turned away at the starting line for wearing shorts.

I posted on Y1 to let them know.

    Pure Stock beyond 1974........

Those cars are UGLY,.... sorry but no one wants to see them run. Other than Pontiac T/A's....... how much is ANY 75-85 vehicle worth??? Why ???because there is NO demand for them and no one wants to see them anywhere.

Actually you can see them any day of the week racing right now in all kinds of butchered conditions, WHY...because they have NO value, so if you cut it up no one will care.

Those cars are Un-cool....I don't care whose brother had one that ran 11's stock (yeah right).... they are UGLY, UN COOL, JUNK.
    -----------------------------------------------------
Can you imagine the problems of trying to tech these cars. I can imagine 100 people showing up with GN's all claiming to be stock, all running in the 11's.
Same goes for Monte Carlo's,... how many of those cut up, butchered, no bumper, death trap cars do you see on any given race day???

It would turn the Pure Stock / Factory Stock drags into just another drag race.

    NO NO NO...........IMHO

I agree it won't happen and maybe shouldn't. I don't care for rides from '74 up.......some folks don't care for my '64 either though.

Just to clarify though the thread title says "74 up Muscle cars with carbs"

    I don't believe a Grand National had a carburetor.

Lets not forget a lot of our restored desirable muscle cars were "cut up, butchered, no bumper, death trap cars" at the track before they became desirable and were restored.

1955 to 1974 I agree will stay that way.

75-80 trans ams should be allowed to run,as well as 77 to 80 Z28's and 75 to 80 Vettes.they are all carbureted.there were some 455 powered Cutlasses and regals made in 75,i believe, also.

those Monzas,Starfires, etc.werent built as a Musclecar per se,so i wouldnt think they would work

hey, what about the 75 to 77 Road Runners?? :Do No:

    But ........

What about the Fastest American-made production vehicle in 1978 ..... the Lil Red Express Pickup. How could you not allow that ?? :bglasses:

I don't really care for the '75 up cars myself, but you most certainly cannot cherry-pick certain vehicles, without allowing the fastest tested of a certain model year. :Smarty:

But those cars really aren't "muscle cars", are they? The marketing people tried to sell a few more with their stripes and graphics, but it kinda destroys the spirit of this.

The more they butcher and cut up, the better as far as I'm concerned. Some were neat (Trans Am's..... hmmmmm.....can't think of another) :Do No:

The 80's brought back the spirit, and the RWD cars themselves are really neat cars (most of them). They're fabulous cars with a small bolt in engine change to another stock engine of the times.

vista461 Not so fine, my B-09

You're just scared of my 86 442 Dirty

As much as I love the G-body cars, they aren't musclecars in stock form.

    Of course my 64 442 isn't muscular either with a 310hp 330. :ball:

    Guess I am screwed.
