Will a newer posi unit work in a 71 8.5 rear??

I am now looking into getting a stronger rear built for my 455 Skylark and have been looking into alternatives to the 8.2 I have currently. I have this idea and need to know if its feasible or not. I have a 71 3.08 non posi rearend. What I have been reading is that the newer 8.5 rears have a 30 spline axle instead of the 28 like my 71 rear. Since I plan on going Moser Axles or Strange axles,I would like to go a bit stronger. So, My rear build that I am wondering about is this.
    71 8.5 rear
    3.90 gear set
30 spline newer 8.5 posi for a 89 and up (Auburn)
30 spline moser or strange axles
Now my question is this, Will this work? Will it be a bolt in?(I understand it has to be set up properly) or will some manufacturing need to be done?
Since I will be selling off my 70 8.2 3.42 GS rear,I want to make sure this will work before I bite the bullet on it.I have had offers for 12 bolt rears but I don't like the C clips or the C clip eliminators at all so I thought this would be my best alternative.

Yes that all will work but I would not use the factory auburn units not very reliable as far as power goes. I have built many of these rears Moser 30 spline axles 30 spline eaton Posi/or spool. 3.42-4.10 gear ratio. New bearing seals etc. Give me a call I am in Ohio Akron area I can quote you out a price and go over your exact needs on what your intentions are for the rear so you get just what you need and not over kill.
