bring it on, they will need the car count, as long as the turn signal does not come on!!!!!!!!

Dave, there was a freshly restored Nova SS L-79 this year, Marina Blue

wheel hopping all over the place but trapping at 109 mph....

Paul, if you need inner fender wells and the front suspension for the Nova, I have it

Fender well headers? Dump tubes? Now that's really stretching it..What's next?

Actually, I always thought it would be neat to let people run otherwise "illegal" cars on T n T day during lull periods in the track....or after the shootouts... A little informal grudge race...say between a coupla replicas of old time race cars like:

109mph!! Sounds like a FAST car in PSMCDR clothing. Those are great little cars but in the day they were no match for a 340 Dart or 350SS Nova. Any magazine data for those rides.

    Dave,

we have 2 L79 Novas hitting that mph......

and if memory serves me right, Hemi's used to fall victim to that combo all summer long :moonu:

Dave, re-read your history book...the '66-7 L79 Novas were in A/stock along with the Hemis back in the day (when the class was a LOT tighter), and used to put it to the Hemis and 427 Fords. Matter of fact, I believe it was at the Nationals that Grumpy beat Stahl's Hemi in the finals. A hot little small block, in a car that is very light...they've factored them out of any competitive chance now, though.

Hey, it's Gateway! Ironic timing, as they're advertising this weekend as the last weekend of drag racing at the facility...we lost Memphis last year, Gateway this year. :(

I used to eat 340 Dart and SS350's alive with my Ramrod...also 383 roadrunners and Super Bees...Not too many Fords in Lansing......
....but had my ass handed to me on a platter more than once by one of those 66-67 Nova SS cars. They screamed!
