Sorry you changed your mind on bringing the Nova.
If i'm not mistaken the track will be running it's regular program so why not bring the car and simply bypass F/S. Put on some sticky tires open the pipes and make some noise. I would enjoy seeing the car no matter how it shows up.:TU:

Geez, I only asked if it was going to run test only to avoid future "baseline" entries.

Wasn't offended, but I have seen how people use the..... well you let so and so run what not...... type of arguments.

    Then the wagons started circling.

We'll be there......pit party Thursday and Friday night.

Adrian will take another crack at Goliath with the Firebird and I'll be looking to beat my all time fastest pass in the GTO.

Actually, from what I've read, Jere Stahl's '66 Hemi won NHRA Top Stock Eliminator in the 3 NHRA events he entered in '66, the Springnationals, the Nationals in Indy and the World Finals in Tulsa. Jenkins' 66 Nova runnered up to him at two of those events.

Julie ran an 11.41 and in a different car she ran a 11.43. Larry Kirkum ran an 11.47. All '69 Corvettes I believe. Sorry, those are the only ones I can remember. I was too busy trying to get decent 60' myself. Spent most of the day on the track or working in the pits. Oh ya, sorry to say when I was running against Ted in his Red Tomato, he unfortunately had an engine problem and it punched a hole in the bottom of his oil pan and was done for the day. He was running very, very strong up till then. He's such a great guy and an inspiration to all of us. :TU:

I think about 50 or so cars overall as a guess. Perfect weather.

A bit of my own medicine, or perhaps self medicating!

Looks like I should've been the one re-reading the history books, as you're absolutely correct, Tom. I dug out my NHRA "Champions Through the Years" pamphlet and it indeed shows Jere as being the top dog @ the Nats (as well as the Spring Nats and World Finals, as you state). I wanna say Grumpy held the record for quite a while that season, but Jere managed to nudge him out of that honor as well, with an 11.65 (I believe?) to Grumps 11.66?

It's still impressive that the little Chevy II made it through to the finals of the Nats against a field stacked with street Hemis...
