Excuse my lack of knowledge, i was wondering if a posi rear out of an 89 caprice classic will fit in my 68 lark. i found one at a u-pull it (car looks clean and hardly driven) for $150. is it worth getting?
$150 is an ok price but it will not fit your car. If you have a stock rear, you have an 8.2" The rear from the 89 Caprice will be either an 8.5" or a 7.5" and will have 30 spline axles. Your axles are 28 spline. If you want to do posi swap, get rid of your 8.2 and find an 8.5 from a 71-2 Skylark/Cutlass. 71-87 GM rears that are 8.5" use the same center section.
