1969 Buick GS Floor automatic Trans console Is there a wiring harness for the console lights and Neutral safety and back up switch Thanks Gene
Are there lights in the 1969 console? There are none in a 1970. I don't think you will find a separate harness for the N/S and back up wiring. The 1969 Buick Chassis Manual would have the wiring diagram though. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=1969+buick+chassis+manual&_sacat=0
strange. the '70 Malibu that i owned had a light in the console to display the gear position (P, R,N,1,2,3)
It’s part of the dash harness. Pic is from the old harness I pulled out of my 70GS. No lights, just connector for the switch in the shifter.
I’m in the process of Installing new dash harness. The portion for the center console breaks off between the radio and glove box where the horn/buzzer relay is. I do know that when I ordered the harness, I had to get the one for console shifter as opposed to column shifter.
No lighted transmission indicator on the Buick console because the shift indicator is in the speedometer. No need to look down.
Early 70 had a wiring harness to the console for the neutral safety switch not lights as there were none. At some point in 70 the switch on console cars was moved to the steering column. I’ll bet 69 had the same setup.
