would 15x8 with 4" backspace fit my `65 GS?

Hello,i am looking to get a set of wheels for my `65 GS,i have found a set of 15x8 wheels with 4" backspace but i dont know that they will fit,any help appreciated.

George, I don't think so. I have 15x8.5 centerlines with a 4.5" bs and they rub a little with 295-50's. You might do it with smaller tires, but its going to be darn close. I bought some 15x8 rallys with 5.5" BS and one rubs a tiny bit on the inside of one wheelwell.

 

How about if i were to use like 245 60`s or 235 60`s?

i have a 67 buick skylark that i tried a set of 14by7 inch wheels with 3.75 inch backspacng and i had 245/60/r14 the fit great with plenty of room
