would like your opinion on these rims..C'MON GUYS GIMME YOUR 2 CENTS

i realize there a real throw back look, but i like clean/simple and chrome of course

rears will be a 255/70/15 and 225/70/15 in the front.which if im not mistaken needs a 4.5" backspacing..if im wrong please correct me...

so lemme know what you guys think, the rally's are more popular for these cars and i was gonna go custom.....but found these...

SMOOTHIES...... Allways like those rims, but mostly on the 50's style cars. Never seen them on a 68-72 though.

thats why i said there a bit of a throw back, i havent seen it before either but i really like the look, nice and clean, and on metallic silver lark, with 2 black stripes i think the black from the big rear tires will match the stripe, and the chrome will set off the tires will going along with the silver...

any more opinions would be great guys, thanks for the feedback...

    gscalifornia Small blocks rule!!

Wonder if a dog dish hub cap would fit in the middle? That would give it a little more Buick style! The black trishield may complement the black stripe nicely!

No... the dog dish caps attached over a hump on the factory wheels. Those centers on the smoothies are recessed into the wheel, allowing it to fit flush with the rest of the rim. PIA to remove them though, and hard to install without denting (on certain manf. types)

Since you asked for our opinion, I will share mine. I have seen a couple of cars around here with them on it before, and I don't really like it. I am sure it is just me, but they don't do much for me except on an older car (50's and back). Just my opinion.

My thoughts but it's your car ....

They would look correct on a rod or custom car , 50's and 60's era cars also looked nice with them . Early 70's cars used alot of Cragars , Keystone , and others .

How was that swap... Been comtemplating a SC3800 into my Grand am... Any major issues, was it worth it??

I was actually looking at a 94 sunbird with the 2.0 at first for that swap (but ended up with a 96 GA 3.1 instead)... at a glance it looks like all the engine mounts were real close. That'd be a nice sleeper

sure as hell wasent fun, there was an 1" at either side of the motor, took a the wiring worked out, had some custom mounts made, theres a couple web sites devoted to this swap that helped alot...

i still chuckle thinking back when a sunfire was eating up irocs/camaros etc... teh car weighed nothing....

biggest problem was traction. never made a 1/4 run.. would of spun until the 8th mark anyway
