    Hi
I will be in South Florida on vacation for 3 weeks in Nov/Dec.
Our route is Ft.Lauderdale,Daytona,Orlando,Tampa,Key West and back Ft.Lauderdale again.
Are there any innteresting wreck yards along this route of not to far away?
    Anybody who knows?

    Other than my driveway?

Huge cruise night every Friday night in Fort Lauderdale -- Tower Shoppes parking lot just south of 595 at University Drive. I-595 to University Drive, go left on University, take a left at either the 2nd or 3rd light into the lot behind all the restauraunts, you can't miss it. 6:00 to 10:00?

No specific old-car yards in Fort Lauderdale, though they do come and go at the local U-Pull yards. Real hit or miss. Yards in the area are:
    -- U-Pull-It, SR 441, about 1 mile south of I-595. 10 minutes from downtown Ft. L. Currently has a 51 Chevy, 49 Packard, one 40's Buick.
    Open 7 days, 8-5. $1 admission.
-- U-Pick-It, about 1/2 mile west of SR 836 in Hialeah, you can see the billboard-size sign from the 836. One or two exits south of Okeechobee Road. 30 minutes from downtown Ft. L. Open 7 days, 8-5. $1 admission. Currently has a 1971 Opel, 1968 Skylark ragtop (POS), 66 Chevy.
-- Millions of Parts, Old Griffin Road east of I-95, take the Griffin Road exit, go left, and veer to the right. Open six days, Sat 9-3. Free admission. Sometimes lots of old pig iron, sometimes none at all.

As far as Tampa and the surrounding area, George Nenadovich (GSstage1?) maintains a junkyard report at

    Hi
And thanks for the info. :) :) :)
I dont think I will reach the cruising on our first Friday in Ft. Lauderdale, we are arriving at Miami airport about 06.00Pm and I have to pick up the Buick in Pompano Beach .
I dont I can pick it up before Monday morning.
They are probably closed at that time we arrive.

But if we are in Ft. Lauderdale on our last Friday, I will check it out.

In Orlando there is a few yards. One is Airport Towing on Narcossee Rd. Haven't been there in years but they had a lot of old cars. Another few in Bethlo off East Highway 50. Used to have a lot of old rides. Good luck and have fun. Ron

    :) Thanks
We are leaving from Norway next Friday, I am really looking forward to have some summer days again, there have not been too many of them over here this year. I still havent got any temporary plates yet.
Hopefully I dont have to use too many days of the vacation to find a solution about it.
