I am looking to purchase a clean axle to axle 10 bolt 3;08 posi dated for a '71 "A" body buick. I dont want a 12 bolt or to do any retrofitting.. I'd be open to the guts/carrier to make my existing rear a posi, provided they are period correct and there are no issues. again, prefer the whole shot as a drop in. also wanting a complete disc brake set up , same year.. cash in hand anyone ?? thanks !
I have you covered Parts are in St Louis Posi and gears 300.00 disc with master/booster/porp valve/lines to valve/complete spindles to dust shields 300.00 plus shipping or pick it up here
thanks john, I believe we have dealt in the past... pm-ing you now with my current contact info . thanks, john
I am here Mark, John is Here I need and addy to figure shipping. I will look at the rotors and see if they are worth shipping. Might be better to send seperate pieces to save weight this stuff is heavy.
Haven't heard back I guess your passing? Let me know because I might list these items for sale here and I want you to have a chance to finish the deal . The posi is good and can be used as is I am told.
Going to be removing my clean and recently rebuilt 71 Skylark 10 bolt 3.08 posi. I would be willing to sell and ship, except it is drum brakes not disc. Let me know if interested
sounds like a plan...what I am wanting is factory...so drum is correct and as long as its coded for '71.... please clarify the codes stamped on the axel tube... PM me and lets proceed.. thank you for your response !
Let me get out there this morning and get the code. It should be easy to read. It is the original complete axle for my 71 Skylark, but original ratio was 2.56. In 2007 it was rebuilt with 3.08 posi. A 2 series carrier with spacer. Posi works aweseome nice and quiet. Built by my buddy Ken here on the board techg8.
Okay, have attached some pics. It looks dirty, but I never repainted it when out in the car. It was built and went in May 2007. But I only drive car weekends in summer. So not many miles. The code is LKB 078 2. PM me if still interested and we can talk the money. Jay
