Hi, Gang. I would like to buy a decent set of radio control knobs for my 1971 Skylark. This would include the ring for adjusting the tone, the volume knob, the filler ring behind the tuning knob, and the tuning knob. I imagine these knobs would be the same for 1970-1972 Skylark. Thanks for any help. John in Wisconsin

    John,
You need to let the guys know if you need the knobs for a car with or without a rear speaker, because they are different.

Duane, I take it that is why some are taller than others? Ive noticed that some have a black spacer at the base while the others don't

    Which are which?

    Jason,
I don't know about taller, but there are two types, with and without the fader for a rear speaker.

The ones with the rear speaker have 3 prongs that stick into the radio.

The ones without the rear speaker have no prongs, but have what looks like a thick "staple" that plugs into the radio to complete the circuit. Otherwise the radios will not work.

The reason I ask is that I have these two styles. One has a black base.

    Jason,
I see what you mean, I believe all of mine had the black ends. I can't remember ever seeing the other style.

I'm getting old dude, and have CRS disease, you know "Can't Remember ****"

    Topcat Got TORQUE?

The black end ones are 70-72 and the shorter ones are 68-69......they made them longer after 69 so that you could grab them easier.....

I worked at Delco Radio for nearly 30 years :pp

I'll be in the barn later tonight and look for that set.....it's still packed in the GS Nationals stuff.....

Bill, do you have a crappy one? I have a decent set for my 69, but one of the knobs is missing the little metal clip inside that grips the shaft.
