Never heard of 8.8 Ford traklocs being remachined to fit any 8.2, but sure may be possible. Currently out of 8.8 traklocs, but can get my hands on one. Several sources are performing machining mods on 8.8 trakloks to make them work in '67-70 type "O" Olds 10 bolts.

Have previously helped with installation of a '68-70 BUICK 8.2 4 pinion carrier in a '71 GrandPrix (Pontiac 8.2) rear, & have installed several modified 8.2 Pontiac carriers in '68 BUICK 8.2 rears. The difficulty of the 8.2 Pontiac carrier installation in BUICK 8.2 rears is compounded by the different staggers of the two different lines of GM carriers, & the need to have a thin sleeve machined & installed on the lh carrier bearing boss.

If I am understanding this correctly, the 8.2 "BOP" parts would work in my stock 65 special? I am building a 350 SBB for the car and am not looking at going crazy, just a cruiser. Is this year 8.2 worth going posi? I was thinking 3.23 gears. the car will have a th350

Whether it's worth spending $$$ on... depends on you.
Personally, before spending a dime on possibly "upgrading" a Buick gray iron 8.2, I'd pull & ck the axles.
3.23's for this style rear are only avail used. Expect to pay $100-150 for a decent used set. New mid ratio posi carriers are avail.
Other costs, ck my earlier post. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=121070
