Wow. I hope the driver is okay. How did it leave the ground?

I can't believe those people by the fence just stood there and watched it. I'm sure it happened fast, but wouldn't you think somebody would have been scared and moved a little?

We saw one like this at Norwalk, but the car stayed between the guard rails. Big time mid year fastback Vette broke something in the 4 link and turned sideways up on 2 wheels, then came back and went up sideways on the other side when it hit the guard rail. Guy walked away from it like this. Amazing there was no fire.

I happened to film the entire thing and driver wasn't scared until we replayed it back in the camera viewer. Then he started shaking.

Pretty common for those Pontiacs to take off like that :pp

Probably a Ford in the other lane. Notice in the fourth picture the door.I think this is what is meant by "Getting your doors Blown off". :puzzled:
How did he get it up that high, Yikes!

There was a car at Milan about 15 years ago that had transbrake problems and flew over everything and landed on top of a 66 GTO in the first row in the parking lot. Don't know if he was running a Ford, though.

In the airborne pic, the wheelie bars look a little skewed. Bet that's parrt of the reason. Maybe that failed, he went up, and jumped the guard rail with the front in the air. :Do No:

Now we know. See this for a video of that wreck (and a whole lot more racing at the Orlando Outlaw 10.5 meet. This Pontica is at the 4:40 mark. Big file, long download even with cable modem.

Soomething broke underneath or he got fluid on the tires...???Didn't go up until he hit the guard rail. He walked away from it.

Yellow Henry J with a 454 Chevy running 10.50's. Stood there and watched it happen.

Thought there was lots of death but it was lots of property damage and the driver had her arm nearly severed.

The window net was attached to the door.

I thought that was a Henry J, but wasn't sure. One of my friends bought the body of that GTO afterwards to get the floor pan and cowl for his. Then cut off the top and rear quarters and grafted on from another car. Funny story, he drove his GTO to my brother in law's house to begin some minor rust repair work on the fenders and quarters. After a couple of hours to cutting away with air chisels, sawzalls, and die grinders in his driveway, they both got drunk and cut the entire car up off the rolling chassis. Only thing salvageable was the top panel itself. Can't believe he ever finished that car, but did.
