Yes John, Jim's didn't have cruise.. in fact I have only ever seen 1 convert with rear defrost and cruise panel plate.. belongs to Ken Anderson down in FLA, and I replated and detailed it for him, along with his other plastic chome parts.

I was certainly sweating UPS losing that one, but everything worked out just fine.

Here's a couple new shots of Jim's car.

I have a friend with a 72 Lark vert optioned for an exec's wife . It has that plate and anothermember here in Az has one . He got his NOS off ebay with 3 other plates of which I got the defrost / cruise plate . That defrost option was so rare on these verts . I havea code 19/19 GS 455 hardtop that needs paint also , you got any left from that car ?

Jim--Totally awesome car! What a great job you guys did in getting everything right and taking the time to make it look right, too. I remember picking up my '70 GS350 from the dealer in late '70 (I have to check the invoice for the date) and being in love with it. It was a double-black hardtop (no vinyl top) but it was actually the best running of the 3 I bought new back then. When I used to bring it back to the dealer for service the prep guys in the back always hand-washed and waxed it for me because it was such a great looking car. In those days my band was playing the Ides of March song called "Vehicle" that had a great line--"I'm your friendly stranger in the black sedan, won't you hop into my car?" These days it would be considered wierd, but we were young and innocent--well, young, anyway--and I remember having the line fed to me a couple of times on dates. Loved that car, traded it for a '71 'vette, which was almost the dumbest thing I ever did, and bought a '71 GS350 Platnium Mist/Black/Black convertilbe six or seven months later. The black GS was always my favorite Buick, even more so than my '72 Stage 1 convertible--fire red/black/black. Glad you spent the time and dollars to bring it back to life.

Hey I saw this car last time I was over at Jim's shop almost finished and Jim gave me the tour of his work on the car, now I know who the owner is (lucky you). Congrats on a super rare, and super cool GS. Jim said somehing about this car going into a museum is that true if so where will it be available to look at in person? I suspect this will be strictly a trailer queen

A visit to Trishield is always a treat, just to see what projects they are working on.

Jim, where and when will these two cars be shown? I may have to fly up to see them. Thanks,

    Hey Jim..

How about a pic of both your cars together?..

    That would be cool..

They were only close enough once here in the shop, while there were in process in '06, on a day that we were cleaning and moving things around. I just recalled I had this pic.

I think many or most are made here http://www.osborn-reproduction.com/

But I would get the air cleaner embossed decals from the NE GS chapter (Skyhawk on this Board ) unless I could find NOS.

I thought that would be the place, but they don't seem to offer the decal I need: the radiator cover emissions decal for a 1970 455 non stage engine-- one of the most common applications, I would think. It's for my Wildcat, but it isn't offered for any series, as far as I can tell.

I must be missing it somewhere...
