The only web site I know of is Brad Reqac's page that is decidated to the Suncoupe.

He goes by "Chrome Yellow" on this site.

You can find some information on some other sites.

I do not believe they came with boxed frames, as it was a hard top car that was sent to ASC (American Sunroof Corperation) to have a hole cut out and the Suncoupe top put in.

This was a Skylark option and not a GS option (basically), although there are a few (I believe 5 known) GS cars that were special ordered with the Suncoupe top put in. They will have an SCO coded cowl tag.

I have not heard of an I6 motor in them, but know that the 350 2 & 4 barrel motors were used. I do not believe the 455's were used Skylarks.

The roof is neither crank or electric. It is a manual sliding assembly that the material folds in flaps in the rear of the opening. The opening is almost 4' square in size.

I hope this helps with the information you were looking for.

I have not ever hear of one having an I6, but one with three-on-the-tree.

Most were either 350CI with either a two-barrel or four-barrel.

Like Michael said neither chank back. Your handle turns almost 3/4 turn to "claimp" the front portion to the roof.

You have to maually open the roof and fold the top into layers.

All 1972s were manual opening and closing.

The few so called 1973s were an electric sliding smaller sun roofs (about two by three foot).

I wonderd what happened to that site (Big Daddy's Suncoupe). I thought he just closed it.

    Louie,

That is Paul Puzza's Suncoupe. I used to be a member of the Dutchess Cruisers and hang out in Fishkill every Friday evening. It is a very nice car, he did an awesome quality paint job on it.

Do you go there often? If so, I need to to tell him hi for me. Just tell him Mike with the red Suncoupe...

Mike, you are correct, I just left him and his Dad, and the rest of the guys at the Monday night Cruise @ the Smoke Haus in East Fishkill. Paul was the one that did my 69 GS350, after I saw the work that he had done to that 72 to bring back from the condition it was before. Figured he could bring my GS back to from it's sad state.

I believe the Sun Coupe option was only advertised as being available on the "Skylark 350". In some of the '72 literature it mentions it was available as on option on the GS's coupes eventhough it was never on the GS order form.
Here is a '72 Skylark 350 order form...

I've never seen one with a boxed frame, they were the same as all other non convertible frames.
All were hand latch then pull rearward.
The SunCoupe option was listed only on the Skylark 350. It was available on the base Skylark, Custom, and GS as an SCO, ( Special Car Order). I own a Stage 1 and know of 2 others and a GS455 car. Also have seen a GS 350 SunCoupe the was original but do not have the SCO number from it. Never seen a Custom with the SunCoupe.
I6 was possible but never seen or heard of one. All engine and trans combinations were possible same as the model it was ordered on.
There were 5 colors for the top and they could be had with any body color. Some did not have vinyl tops, not even the 3/4 vinyl top.
Most interesting thing is the Gold or Red carpet available with the SunCoupe option.

    Question Re: suncoupe website?

i was going to ask about the carpet.the one i've got my eye on the carpet appears to be olive(or dirty gold).are those the only two colors they came with,or just additional colors?seems like an unusual model to say the least.
