Last week my dad and I drove over to Darton and dropped off the blueprints for the sleeves. The drawings should be going over to the foundry in the next couple weeks if all goes as planned and we're hoping to have a prototype block within the next couple of months. The new (huge) heads will come after this.

Thanks Mike Jr. Looking forward to some serious parts. I'm tired of going to these races and all the Mopars are running nearly 600 inches and hugh heads and going a second and half or two seconds faster than I can. Even some of the Pontiacs are that fast as they have better stuff than us.
    Thanks again,

Jim, I saw you run in St Louis . Thanks for making the trip because the guyys around me were wondering what kind of car is that. It kinda looks like a Chevelle and one guy said it was a Canadian Chevelle. When I told them it was a Buick they didn't believe me especially after you ran . They were sure you were BBC powered.

    John:
Thanks for the kind worlds. We had a good time at St. Louis, even with the -.005 redlight in the second round. I had beat him last year at the Monster Mopar event and we were pitted together and I knew he would be after me, he went on to win the event. We would like to be running a little faster but trying to keep a stock bottom end together for the rest of the year. Yeah, I have had people ask, what kind of Big Block Chevy is that with the distributor in the front? And that with BUICK on the TA valve covers.
    Thanks again,

Hay guys new to Buicks. Great sight and lots of info. I have had the same experiece with Buicks. 455 there are so many of them Olds, Pontiac and Buick............they are all the same right? NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! We are trying to set some landspeed records with a 71 Riv. witch draws a lot of attention (not all good). Hopefully soon we will have a couple records then we can start to get some sort respect. The TA aluminum block sound very promising and I hope Mike makes some of the changes we have requested (smaller main, better oiling, solid lifter valley). I come from racing big block Mopars but a friend of mine asked me to help him run fast on the salt so here we are.

By the 24th of July the block pattern should be at the foundry. That is the day my son and I will be there to see how things are going. We will take some pictures off the patterns at that time. It will not be too far in the future that we will start taking deposits. This is needed so we know who is interested. But before that we will be casting 3-6 blocks to prove everything out. After that, then we will make blocks for our customers. Approximate price $5900.00
I would like to thank all of you folks for your support with project. I hope this is the beginning of a higher level of Buick Performance.

On par with the Mopar block price and the Chevy ZL1 aluminum block is about 5 g's so Mike is not out of the ballpark with this block.

By all means I am sure Mike priced it fair. I just had a little sticker shock
