This is a great starter. I have installed one on a 13:1 464" motor, and it starts like magic even when hot. I am very happy with mine and I would recommend it to anyone.

    Default Thumbs up!

    Thanks Jamie!

    I know mine's only a 10.25:1 - 464, but, this thing cranks like nobody's business!

Jamie's service is second to none, seems his supplier had a shortage of bolts, so they were drop shipped from the bolt supplier at no additional cost.

I am very happy with this starter, even happier that it won't crush me when it has to be removed.

    Thanks again,

    Jim (soon to be: )

Are these starters permanent magnet style, or brush type?

    Talking

they are permanent magnet.the magnets replace the copper/aluminum field coils that absorb all the heat which in turn leads to higher resistance.the magnets are unaffected by heat so it starts just as well hot as it does cold.its also gear reduction.all starters have brushes, some industrial & marine alternators dont, could be what your thinking of.
