Well I have good and bad news about the Jolly John 65 buick gs drop top.. the good news is I know the guy who owns it, I know the guy who bought it from Jones buick garage, and btw it was and still is an automatic.. I am actually the guy who owns it. The car had been in storage for ohhh boy 40years.. and the paint is baked, the chrome is shot...the interior is still nice, and the clock says 45k original miles.
My Father used to drive the buick and ended up buying it from Jones it had a 401, and now has a 425.. it had either 488 or 456 gears, dad can't remember because he also had bought their stage 2 69 gs and one had 456, and one had 488, he can't remember which had what. He is 80 now, so I think we can let that slide.lol
The car will be pulled out of the latest storage building this summer, and a mechanical restoration will be started. I want my dad to drive it again. Please feel free to ask me any questions, and if you did have pics of it, I'd love to see them since I only have a few of it in new condition.

Hey Garrett, great to see you showed up here, welcome!
We would all like to see some pics and hear some stories about the car. It's amazing it's still around.
There is a site dedicated to the '65 GS at www.65gs.com Lots of reference pics, online manuals and a great forum.

The 69 was equipped with tuned mickey Thompson scavenger headers, and the Pistons are also stamped m/t the Pistons and rods and headers are the only thing that remains in our possession of the 69 stage2 it was a 4 speed red black top, and black interior bucket seat car with Stuart warner gages in the dash supposedly from the factory. The car was a beast from what my brother said, and would slide all over the track through 4th gear. My dad sold the car to his cousin, and then he sold it... I wish I could find it, but that was in the early 70's and in the Hartville area.

I am looking for front fenders, for the 65 gs a jolly John car, I always called the car sneaky snake... I have no idea why, or where I got it from, but to me it has always been sneaky snake. I don't know if my dad changed the name when he bought it, or that was me being a toddler.lol the bumpers are in extreme need of rechroming, or replacement. .. I am laid off, snd trying to start a website due to lack of work... I have been selling off my car collection to fund my venture, but I'd love to do this car asap for my pops. He has been an amazing dad, and done so much for me so that I could grow up to be the man that I am... any help in getting parts, or even some info, and opinions... would be great.. gearcandygarage@Gmail.com will reach me, or 330-232-2507..I can take pics of the Polaroids that I have of both cars for your viewing pleasure.. thanks again for having me here guys.

I guess dad said the 65 held c stock records at a bunch of tracks, and was in an issue of hot rod magazine. It ran high 12s, low 13s I thought that was impressive for a 401 and some big gears on tiny 9" slicks

I will talk to dad, and see if I can get more stories.. I remember he used to drive it down to national trail and could only go like 45 50mph because of the gears, and he'd drove it down with the slicks on it.lol the car is and was burgundy with white top, and white and black interior, white seats everything else is black inside.
