There is a thread on this that Gary Kubish did a while back, like 3 or 4 years ago.

Reference weights as factory made might be helpful too. Size limits make the reduction hard to read. '70 & '72 are probably very close to these weights.

    Phil, Gary's thread is great.
But I thought a table would put it all out there to see. Then you could dig deeper for more info.

The biggest weight savings was when I took off the the "GS" factory hood (85 pounds) and installed a flat VFN hood (about six pounds)..

This thread is great, the most weight is probably the hood and fenders.

Those fiberglass front fenders and hood will definatly shave off quite a few pounds.

I am pretty sure that is what the scale said. It has been about eight years ago

It is a VFN flat-bolt-on hood.

Our Fenders only weigh about 33lbs....Not really worth the delicate treatment they require.

OK here is my plan ,what do you think? Is there a way for anyone to update a spread sheet if I(Dave Reber) submit it?
Example: John Doe finds a new part that will shave 10lbs and cost $20. The part is manufactured by ACME. He could simply add all the info to the Excel spead sheet.
A second option is to have people send me all the needed info and I can update the spread sheet. In the "replies" to the original post you could provided some details to aid those that have questions.
I would like this to be a "living" data table thus saving time and money. You folks with quick light cars do things I would never think of and it is hard to do a sucessful search for ideas you do not have.

I forgot to add Excel would be a better format than a table in word.
Any input on what the spread sheet should look like?

You can post the spreadsheet onto the board, then somebody like John Doe can find something new download the file, add it to the excel document then repost the excel document back into this thread.

Here is what I have so far. What do you think?
I would like to thank Rick Martinez and Tyler Northcutt for help. Before I go any further I need to fig out how to post the chart so it stays as the number one item in its respective thread. Meaning no one wants to look at a bunch of pages to get to the table.

    Looks great!

You can also lose a few pounds by scraping the road grime from the bottom of the car. Won't be a whole lot, but every little bit helps.
