... Okay ... I DID-IT!
The stress/aggravation/anxiety got the better of me; I ordered the "correct" TA short-nose Buick 455 billet WP pulley.
I called Bruno (The-King)prior to this posting. Since the PS pump I got from Bruno "vanished" from the shelf of my old garage ... I need to drive back out to him to get another. Domenic
said he might can get me one as well.

... I just spoke to Tyrone; I get my Holley850 back on Monday.
I'm off the following weekend, so I'm swapping-out Tyrone's Holley750 ... for my Holley850 then.
Also, I'm finally changing the upper radiator hose and the intake-to-WP housing hose to the correct TA parts.
Oh yeah ... my TA Performance billet short-nose WP pulley arrives this Friday coming ... so I'm installing all 4-items next weekend, God's-Will.
Tyrone stated that his hardest 462Pontiac to start ... starts-up immediately with my new Holley850.

Chris,
This thread is crazy long and you have been thru every human emotion.. You need to get that 455 Regal up to Lebanon Valley Dragway on May 26th for the Northeast GS/GN club Buick day. It's not that far from you. Bring your video camera and the Regal. You will see some of the fastest buicks around the Northeast. We have a couple 455 Regals in the club.

First issue is finding out where the fuel leaked from onto the TH400's bell-housing. This is the source of my smelling fuel when I got the Stage-1 back from Domenic. The second issue is getting the wiring correctly protected & neat behind the 462.
Do you guys feel I should add a new Holley-to-Intake/Spacer gasket under the new "850'?
SO-FAR-SO-GOOD.

I really appreciate the invite ... and I will honestly trying my best in getting my Buick ready by Next month ... but it looks grim. We need to locate a new apartment A.S.A.P., and I have 2 other "issues" to rid of first.
Steve mentioned this to me also.
I can't wait to get my Stage-1 on any track ... but I want it 100% correct first.
Thank very much again.

... spoke to "The-Brooklyn-Dom" today; he feels the Holley750 may have a leak due to the fuel on the back of the 455 block and the TH400's bell-housing.

... SO-FAR-SO-GOOD, THANK GOD!!!
The ONLY issue ... I ran out of fuel with the fuel pressure gauge reading 3-1/2-lbs.
IMAG0646.jpg IMAG0647.jpg IMAG0648.jpg IMAG0649.jpg IMAG0650.jpg IMAG0653.jpg IMAG0654.jpg
The Stage-1 really did start IMMEDIATELY (at 1500-rpm with no throttle).
I shut it off after @ 35-seconds and checked for fuel leaks. Nada.
I restarted the Buick, and the idle slowly decreased to @ 800-rpm with 3-1/2-lbs fuel pressure. I shut it off again ... checked for fuel leaks (nada) again ... restarted the Stage-1 and it shut off with 3-lbs fuel pressure ... and the electric Carter fuel pump sounded really thirsty.
After I rest my back (1st real automotive job since my back surgeries LOL), I'm driving back to the garage and add fuel, and adjust the idle (if necessary) on the Holley850.
I also changed the upper radiator hose (looks WAAAAY better) and the intake-to-WP-housing hose. The new billet aluminum TA "overdrive" WP pulley is dead-on! The PS belt does NOT rub on this pulley as it did with the "incorrect" short=nose WP factory GM pulley.
A short video will follow by tomorrow.

Nice to finally see the pulley belts lining up. A factory upper adjustable arm going to the top bolt of the alternator, if the bends are still in it, should be going to the alternator from the back side of the attachment point, not the front side you have it attached to. It will fit better when it is correct if the offset bends haven't been taken out of it. No clearance problems to the alt fan then either.
3.5 lbs. of fuel pressure should keep a car running no problem. Getting on it might not be good but it should idle and even drive. I'd be suspecious of the gauge with the fuel pumps you have. I'd switch that out first before you go looking. You did have the electric turned on, right? An electric in series with a mechanical will act as a restriction if not on.

Hey, Mike!!!
It's an honor to hear/receive WISDOM from you.![]()
I was virtually EMPTY of fuel. I have noticed that when I'm almost empty ... the gauge reads 3lbs or less. I later added $7-worth (times-is-HARD) of 93-Octane and the fuel pressure gauge climbed quickly to the usual 6-7lbs. The electric Carter engages with a turn of the ignition key. I noticed the alternator's upper brace as well in the photos once I viewed the on the screen ... I even showed my girlfriend; and I ADAMANTLY appreciate your info regarding it.
My initial plans were to straighten it, or buy a new one (Bruno???
).
I took this video a bit ago; do you feel it's really my PLUGS that has the engine idling ROUGH???
