    Define "streetable".

I drove mine over 10,000 miles this summer (that, combined with passing the MA annual safety inspection, defines "streetable" to me) and I've run an 11.6 @ 118...

not sure about the fastest but i have been 9.22 in street car trim with drag radials at 4000 pounds with a fully automatic trans no manual valve body. this was with race gas though. but could have driven to the track and home that day. car has been faster with a slick tire but that was because the air was better. 60 ft times the same on either tire 1.40
car is also 100 percent legal for safety inspection including all lights, wipers, e brake, etc.
dont put to many miles on it though due to time but would drive to the local cruise which is 40 miles one way.

If it can pass ST. Inspections, you can drive it around town etc. Then it's streetable Bob

Yeah, that's it. Averages a little better than 15 MPG highway, and reasonably quiet exhaust.

I'm sure there are board members who don't have a state inspection to pass, and will have a more lenient definition of streetability who will have faster times. I'm nowhere near a 9.22!

My Century is @ 4,000lbs and is no where near 9 anything!
It's also nowhere near 15mpg either!
11's and decent mpg is cool.

I have my Century titled Antique, therefore it does not require an inspection. But, I'm sure if I were to be pulled over the law would make me redo the title.

my car is 100 percent streetable right down to the exhaust that is reasonable loud but does pass a street nights at the track. it does only get 10 miles to the gallon though. but there is no nitrous but there is a procharger which runs on pump gas and has great street manners. no big torque converter either. can drive pretty much anywhere anytime.

9.2 street car @ 10 mpg is pretty damn good!

    Doug,
You wont have a bit of trouble. I have had classic tags on my 73 GS for quite a few years. In Pa, as long as the car is minimally 25 years old,it meets the Antique criteria. I am supposed to have my car inspected each year with the classic tags, but I still have the inspection sticker which ran out in 1998 on it yet.Been to Maryland,NY,Yardleys picnic and all over the place with it,passed hundreds of troopers and even had one give it the look over at a car meet and no one has sid word 1 about the expired inspection sticker...lol

I hope you're right! My 308s cam and 3" exhaust does not make it sound like an Antique...

Local GN runs 9.4? i think. Built up pretty good, but you would have no idea what it runs if you heard it start up and idle.

Daily driven in the summer i think.

Seen here at 9:40 seconds. Ran 10.8 at this track, because the shutdown area is pathetic.

I"d say you'd need to be in the 8's to hold the title of the "fastest" on this board. There's a couple pro-charged cars around that could be driven on the street, and probably are!

What about Greg Gessler's 72 Stage 1 10.95 @126 on bias ply tires. I would say it is street legal.

Not the fastest on here but ran a 9.95 on pump gas naturally aspirated
3500#. It runs at 180 degrees all day long no matter what just not to economical with a 1050 on it. Usually it just sees short trips to cruise nights.

i would also say that rod's skyhawk would probably be the fastest streetable car with the exception of the slicks. he was known to cruise that car around.
    john jr
there is also big differences in street car analogy. i believe the nmca has a great class where they tape the hood, fuel door, and trunk closed. you must drive 30 miles and then make 3 passes without any changes. the best average is the winner. this is good because it weeds out the cars that have to change to slicks, adjust timing, or change fuel. also hard to cool car down quickly with the hood closed. this would be a good type of a race for the bpg event or bowling green. just need some basic type rules including no laptops or handhelds so you can rule out the faster type injected turbo vehicles.
my first gsx clone car was a great street car at the time. it ran 10.70's in street car trim all day long. i would only have to change to rear slicks due to no drag radials at that time. i drove that car every weekend and put about 175 passes a year on it.
