    Default Orange Crush Head Gaskets are now IN STOCK

    Its been a long wait, but we've finally been able to get our "Orange Crush" head gaskets made and they're back in stock

    Mike, I am getting ready to install a set of stage 1 se aluminum heads with the orange crush head gaskets. My question is should I spray each side with copper gasket spray or install dry? And should I lay a small bead of RTV around the water jackets?

    they are applied dry. Go to TA's website and you can find instructions for a variety of products sold by them.

    I was wondering if anybody else has had a problem with the new batch of Orange Crush head gaskets?

    Installed them dry on a 73 455 with t/a stage 1 heads & both heads leaked water very badly. Heads were just surfaced & the block was very clean. Did the torque sequence(s) as listed in their catalog using arp head bolts.

    I then called t/a & they told me that they just installed a set of the new orange crush in their shop & they also had a water leak coming from one head.

    They then removed the heads & re-installed with the same gaskets & they sealed. They also found no dirt or any problems with the heads or block.

    I didn't want to reuse them so I went to napa bought a set of fel-pros & they worked perfectly. When I removed the orange crush gaskets both the heads & block were perfectly clean & flat.

    Has anydoby else used these new orange crush yet?

    The gasket engineer told me that we should spray the gasket with Permatex. The red tact spray and let it dry. He said it had to do with the white cold seal product. The gaskets strength in sealing combustion is 100% the same as it always has been. I would say a little silicon around the water passages would also work well, less clean up.
