I received a Wildcat single plane intake manifold in exchange for some
consulting work on a Rover engine. The intake was supposed to fit a
Rover block and I assumed it would be similar to the Willpower I have.
It is not. While it looks similar, it is taller than my Willpower and
a fair bit wider than the Buick 300 aluminum intake I have and the ports
are larger. It has the port spacing of a Rover V8 and Buick215/300/340.
Does anyone have access to a Buick 340 intake they could measure for me?
As a start I'd like the port height and width and the distance between
the left and right side bolt holes. I'm trying to identify what this
is before I offer it up for sale. I'm told the cast iron 66-67 Buick
340 V8 4bbl intake is similar in width to the Australian P76 intake with
the P76 intake slightly narrower. I'm wondering if this intake fits
one or both of those two engines. It's a shame it doesn't fit the Rover
as it looks to be a really nice intake. I've included a couple of photos
which show the width difference compared to a Buick 300 4 barrel intake.
