Well I have been working on the hood for wayyyyy to long and she finaly looks good enough to paint black.

I've converted Chuck's photo from a BMP file (1.97 MB) into a JPEG file (98.6 KB), and resized from 720 x 960 pixels to 720 x 765 pixels.

The attachments are restricted to 800 x 800 pixels:



So I can't figure out why Chuck isn't able to upload the resized photo....

My car has been sitting at the painters for two weeks ready for paint and just haven t found time to get it done. The bad side of the car being fill in work

But I have been polishing some stainless and it it looking nice. I also just picked up a set of headers for the little 350.

I started this build not wanting any engine mods, now 4 bbl and headers with the dual exhaust should help get her down the road a bit quicker

Sounds like you are ahead of me. I just cut off a quarter panel from a parts car to replace the "under bondo" surprise on my car.

My Buick hit the paint both this morning for a fresh coat of Saturn Yellow paint Still will need color sand, stripes, more clear, sand and buff but making progress

Chuck, nice progress.. I too have mine at the body/paint shop... Quick question,, any pictures of your deck lid?
I am having a little trouble getting a nice even fit and was wondering if you experienced the same thing?

You were right about the pricing of the total job. And to be honest the $10k would have been low at $50 and hour. My neibor took the car in as fill in so he is only charging me $25 and still over my $5k But all that is left is the red pin stripes clear coat and a buff. My baby shoud be home by the midle of next week

Oh, I forgot to mention that the custom shop said $10 grand will get me a straight job.. So if your budgeting $5k thay may be low for a full out color change..

Also the more prep work or strip down you can do will save you cash..
