Doug -- it is called the doctrine of retaliatory purchase. I should know. My wife invented it.

Rob at Precision Billet Design finished my valve covers. They came out AWESOME!!
Hey Steve, Rob said you make nice covers that are easy to work with. Nice and thick so he doesn't have to worry about grinding right through it. What do ya think?

I'm planning on racing at Norwalk, with a shakedown day hopefully this Sunday at Cecil County or if need be, next weekend at Cecil or Atco.

Cecil ought to be great next weekend: high pressure, 0% chance rain and low 60s.

That's really strange. I posted here yesterday afternoon and obviously nobody saw it. Poof. Disappeared.
    I will do a recap.
As I came out of my pro-stock burnout, I hit the brakes to stop at the line and I felt a pop and the brake pedal went to the floor! I coasted down the track, unable to stop, at 15-20mph and the car finally stopped when I went to turn onto the return road at the end of the track. The tow guy pulled me off and we brought the trailer down to get the car. Before loading the car up we took off the hood and inner fender to take a look.
I had cracked the fitting where the steel braided brake line attaches to the caliper!
It felt fine driving around the pits, but I hit the brakes pretty hard to stop at the line and that was enough to do it.
Thank God it happened when it did, because the next time I hit the brakes I would have been going 150mph!
Parachute, sand pit, safety net, damage, the whole enchilada. Not to mention possible damage to my most precious cargo, yours truly!
Getting all new steel braided lines and fittings this week and plan on going out to Atco next weekend to try it again. My brake lines have been in the car for over 15 years. Everything has a lifespan. Time to update.

Wow Doug! I'm not a super religious guy but I think I'd be thanking someone for looking out for me! You must live right!!!

Let us know how it goes next weekend. I can't even get my car trailer out of storage yet because of all the wet weather we have.

Wow, that's about as bad as having my last thread on my tie rod disconnect from the rack turning into the pits after just going 135+.

You would have joined Bobb Mackley up in the trees at the end of the track.

Neither am I, but I've always felt special, like I had a guardian angel. I've also almost been killed several times, but I'm still here!

I'll do that. Hope you get out soon.

I won't say it couldn't have happened, but certainly less likely. Bobb didn't have a chute and I do. Bobb also didn't see the sand pit and tried to make the turn, couldn't do it, and skidded across the wet grass into the trees on a 45 degree angle from the end of the shutdown.
You might recall, Cecil's sand pit was always straight ahead, but it used to be a little below your line of sight as you approached it. I took note of the fact that, not only have they raised it to ground level, but they have a catch net in place, which looks pretty new.
