So I finally got the documentation on my car... turns out it is a triple black stage 1, just like how it is being built. Does anybody know where to find a space saver spare tire and inflation kit??? We were building it as a regular spare, but the car originally had a space saver. it also had a trailer hitch which I have no idea where i'll get one of those either.. any ideas?

Buick Info.pdf NOt sure if the attachment will work or not... Basically, the car came from Dallas, TX, originally invoiced for $4337.67, and re-invoiced at another dealership for $3997.89. I sure would like to get my hands on a space saver spare tire. i'm not too sure about putting the trailer hitch back on.. probably should try to find one of those as well. Also, does anybody make the super side oval G60-15's with the white lettering?

Kelsey tire has the correct G60-15 Goodyear Polyglas tires. These are the only ones that are correct in this size. They are the main distributor but some others sell as well. Be prepared to shell out at least $275 each.

$275 sounds about right. If it was all cheap then the car would have been done a year ago lol. Anybody know the size and manufacturer of the space saver spare tire? I found one for a '70 trans am that is a 15" rim with a goodyear tire. there are a lot of 14" ones out there with BFgoodrich tires..

Having a hard time adding attachments. I've tried multiple formats and sizes but it still wont work! Anyone have any ideas? My connection is not the problem, it is something with the website.

The stage 1 is closer to completion. Body is on the frame, drive shaft installed, and exhaust installed. Headliner and vinyl top are installed along with the trim. The trunk is splattered, lid and fender extensions are installed.

Next steps are wiring, heater box rebuild, dash, and glass.

Are there correct, new emblem and lenses out there for this car?

Most emblems + lenses are repro'ed. The Stage 1 fender emblem can be hard to find depending on the pin placement.

I have been trying to attach them in the thread in the "reply to thread" window like I have on previous pictures.. doesn't seem to work anymore.

Are repro-emblems any good? I have the originals but all need re-plating and paint.. exploring my options..

I would say the repro emblems are pretty good. The metal is softer than original, so you probably can't take them on + off 50 times. The chrome is probably not as good (thick) as originals. But...they look excellent and fit mostly right. You have to be careful on ebay, because some sellers say an emblem (like 455) is the same for all years and it's not.

The reproduction Stage-1 emblems have a different edge contour than oirginal and the pins are a little thicker and off a bit.

looks like images saved on my iphone wont work but if I take them from my facebook profile they work.. annoying. think I have the original stage 1 emblems, but so far it is somewhat a mystery. they would still need to be refinished.

    thanks for the feedback

Looks great, you are making progress! The temp sender is where the vac tree should be. Maybe you just tossed it in to fill the hole.

if I remember correctly, the intake is off of a '71. I have the correct intake on my parts car (which I didn't have at the time of the dyno). in the process of swapping. nice catch. supposed to be 1231718, right?

What do you guys think of spending the money to get numbers matching carb? I have one off a '70 electra which ends in 0 instead of 6. it is obviously not to stage 1 specs... how big of a deduction would this be at a show?

My understanding is that they don't look at carb numbers, at least in the BCA + GSCA. The NMCA is different, they are like 'vette judges and look at EVERYTHING including date codes. You can't easily see the carb numbers on a GS, I wouldn't worry about it. I judge sometimes for the OCA, we aren't allowed to remove any parts to look at numbers. 'Course...the other Stage 1 guys will be all over the car checking for faults, so they might spot it.

Justen, Looks nice. I do not think the trans. dipstick tube should be black. Every one I have ever seen was just natural metal.

Are you talking about the dip stick housing or just the dip stick itself?

I'll have to fix that. Anyone familiar with the gas tanks on these things? I'm not sure if mine is original or not, but it is the one with 2 holes on the passenger side front of tank.. Any help here would be great!
